About this award

The City of Baltimore received a $199,900 project grant award from the Department of Justice's Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Office to upgrade its law enforcement training simulator system. The grant, awarded under the Public Safety Partnership and Community Policing Grants program, will provide funding to replace and modernize the city's existing training simulator used for de-escalation instruction of police recruits and in-service officers. Upgrading the aged simulator equipment will enhance de-escalation training through new scenarios that reinforce collaborative problem-solving techniques. The period of performance is from September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024.

Description

Our current system is old and we have used/reused all the training scenarios and upgrading the system would enhance our training and we will be able to continue presenting challenging scenarios to recruits and in-service personnel, building and reinforcing their DE-escalation skills.
