This $7 million Economic Development Administration project grant supports the H2theFuture Coalition led by the Greater New Orleans Development Foundation to advance the clean energy sector in New Orleans through hydrogen energy transition. Coalition projects include establishing a central campus connecting industry partners, coordinating programming to improve hydrogen cost competitiveness, developing a testbed for hydrogen-fueled ships, and deploying a hydrogen fueling barge. Once implemented, these initiatives aim to strengthen regional industry clusters in clean energy while creating good-paying jobs and enhancing U.S. competitiveness globally. The EDA investment falls under the Economic Adjustment Assistance program (CFDA 11.307), which provides technical, planning, and infrastructure assistance to regions facing adverse economic changes. The Louisiana Community & Technical College System will serve as the sub-awardee to help deliver the services funded.
