The Economic Development Administration awarded a $280,000 Project Grant to the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council to support development of a Disaster Recovery Coordinator position. This position will deliver long-term economic recovery and resiliency services for the Tampa Bay region under the Economic Adjustment Assistance program (CFDA 11.307). Specifically, the Coordinator will assist small local governments recovering from Hurricane Ian's devastation, enabling businesses to reopen and retain jobs within Tampa Bay communities. Completing November 2024, the project aims to strengthen the regional economy by creating a more resilient community able to withstand adverse economic impacts. The grant funds the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council to deliver technical assistance coordinating long-term disaster recovery efforts supporting economic resiliency across the region.
