The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded a $3,580,800 Project Grant under the Geographic Programs - Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (CFDA 66.469) to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR). The grant funding will support 7 habitat restoration, protection, and enhancement projects in the Wisconsin Great Lakes basin. Key activities include developing a conceptual plan for hemi-marsh habitat creation, acquiring approximately 192 acres of shoreline along Lake Superior, implementing fish passage improvements, and conducting community engagement and visitor use assessments.
