The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has been awarded a $10,767,370 Formula Grant under the U.S. Department of Education's Grants for State Assessments and Related Activities program (CFDA 84.369). The grant, effective July 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026, is intended to support ISBE in developing, administering, and implementing high-quality academic assessments for K-12 public education in Illinois. This includes funding to coordinate participation in national assessment programs, such as the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), and to support data collection and reporting initiatives to measure student achievement. As the primary educational oversight and support organization for the state, ISBE will sub-award portions of this grant to local educational agencies, school districts, universities, and community organizations to deliver these assessment-related services and activities across Illinois.
