The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction received a $6,596,090.00 Formula Grant award from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education to fund the Grants for State Assessments and Related Activities program (CFDA 84.369). The purpose of this program is to pay the costs of developing the standards and high-quality assessments required under Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). The funds will allow the Department to administer state assessments, facilitate data collection, and support the Department of Education's assessment program evaluation from July 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024. The Department distributes portions of this grant funding to local educational agencies across Wisconsin as sub-awards to implement the grant objectives within school districts and communities.
