The State of New Mexico Public Education Department received a $429,134 formula grant award from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education to support the Title I State Agency Program for Neglected and Delinquent Children and Youth (CFDA #84.013). The grant will fund educational services from July 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023 aimed at providing educational continuity for neglected and delinquent children and youth in State-run institutions for juveniles and adult correctional facilities in Pojoaque, New Mexico. Specifically, the funding will help these youth receive needed educational support and transition assistance to successfully return to school or employment upon release. As the designated state agency, the Public Education Department will oversee grant-funded programming to achieve these goals over the 15-month project period.
