The Montana Office of Public Instruction received a $73.9 million formula grant award from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education under the Title I Grants to Local Educational Agencies (CFDA 84.010) program. The grant will support services from July 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023 to help local educational agencies in Montana improve teaching and learning in high-poverty schools, particularly for students failing or most at risk of failing to meet challenging state academic standards. As the designated state education agency, the Montana Office of Public Instruction will administer funding to local school districts and oversee grant-funded programs aimed at improving academic outcomes for disadvantaged students.
