Under this HOME program allocation, Cherokee County will utilize the funds to support eligible housing activities including rehabilitation of owner-occupied housing, homebuyer assistance, acquisition and rehabilitation of rental housing, and tenant-based rental assistance. All housing assisted through these funds must meet federal income targeting and affordability requirements, with units remaining affordable to low-income households for the duration specified by activity type and HOME funding contribution levels. As a participating jurisdiction, Cherokee County must comply with federal planning and reporting requirements, including submission of Consolidated Plans and Annual Action Plans for HUD review and maintenance of records documenting compliance with program requirements and affordability period obligations.
