The Department of Education Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services awarded Indiana Family and Social Services Administration $169,685 on October 1, 2025, under the Supported Employment Services for Individuals with the Most Significant Disabilities program (CFDA 84.187).
The award funds supported employment services delivered collaboratively with public and private nonprofit organizations to individuals with the most significant disabilities in Indiana. FSSA, the designated state vocational rehabilitation agency, administers the formula grant to supplement VR consumer services and assist individuals in achieving supported employment outcomes. The grant runs through September 30, 2026, with performance occurring statewide in Indianapolis and across Indiana's urban, suburban, rural, and frontier service areas. FSSA distributes sub-award funding to Area Agencies on Aging, community mental health centers, workforce development organizations, and nonprofit service providers to carry out the work on the ground.
