The Department of Education's Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services awarded a $2,587,723.00 Formula Grant under the Special Education-Grants for Infants and Families (CFDA 84.181) program to the Delaware Division for the Visually Impaired. This funding supports the Division's implementation and maintenance of Delaware's statewide, comprehensive, coordinated, and multidisciplinary early intervention system for infants and toddlers with disabilities, including visual impairments, and their families. Through this grant, the Division coordinates the delivery of specialized early intervention services across agencies to identify eligible children and provide them and their families with multidisciplinary supports. The Division also partners with the Delaware Department of Education to operate educational programs for school-aged students with visual impairments, distributing some of the federal grant funding to local districts as sub-awards for these services.
