The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) was awarded a $6,010,894 Formula Grant by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services under the Special Education Preschool Grants program (CFDA 84.173). This grant supports comprehensive special education and related services for children with disabilities aged 3 through 5 years, and optional services for 2-year-olds transitioning to age 3, across the state of Arizona. The funding will be used to provide specialized instruction, therapeutic services, and individualized support to ensure young children with disabilities receive a free appropriate public education and are prepared for successful transitions into kindergarten and future academic environments. As the state education agency, ADE will sub-award portions of this grant to local school districts, intermediate educational units, charter schools, and other regional educational organizations to implement these early childhood special education services throughout Arizona.
