Description

One essential natural resource that the people of guam heavily rely upon is reef fish. If left unmanaged, we may see a sharp decline in population size and diversity of the various reef fish species targeted for consumption and recreation. Therefore, there is an urgent need to establish data-driven management measures for the myriad of reef fish species of importance to guam. The guam division of aquatic and wildlife resources (dawr) requests S200,000.00 over a two-year period to establish an inhouse biosampling lab that would be able to process fish samples and to generate important life-history and reproductive biology data that would drive management policies for our aquatic natural resources.
