The city of green river is engaging in a multifaceted project to enhance the use of the riparian corridor of the green river where IT bisects the city and enhance boater access opportunities for rafters and paddlers using green river. The first phase of this project created a boating access put-in and take-out ramp adjacent to the john wesley powell river history museum (museum). This project is designed to construct a concrete ADA-accessible access trail from the boater parking area down to the newly constructed ramp. The purpose of this project is to provide paddlers and rafters on the green river with universal access to the improved retrieval and launching area in the town of green river enhancing boater access on along the green river corridor. Additionally, previously disturbed areas adjacent to the ramp have been rehabilitated using native seed mixes and willow plantings to replace removed stands of invasive tamarisk and russian olive.
