About this award
This $460,047 Formula Grant award from the U.S. Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service Region 5 supports the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission's (PFBC) work on the State Wildlife Grants program. Specifically, the PFBC will lead the comprehensive review and revision of Pennsylvania's 2015-2025 Wildlife Action Plan by June 2026 as required by Congress every 10 years. This includes identifying Species of Greatest Conservation Need and data deficient species that will benefit from potential future State and Tribal Wildlife Grant funding. Western Pennsylvania Conservancy will serve as a sub-recipient to lead the invertebrate species assessment task. The resulting 2025-2035 Pennsylvania Wildlife Action Plan will be submitted to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service by the October 2025 deadline. This work will provide updated information on fish and wildlife populations and habitats in Pennsylvania to support management decisions that reduce threats to at-risk species.
