About this award

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) will receive $571,840 under a Formula Grant award from the Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service Region 5 to support conservation of amphibian and reptile species and their habitats in Pennsylvania through June 2027. Funded activities under the State Wildlife Grants program (CFDA 15.634) include supporting a herpetologist to review environmental permits, update species databases, conduct field surveys, develop species recovery plans, and participate in outreach events. The PFBC will administer the project with the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy serving as a sub-recipient to help deliver these products and services to inform conservation partners and the public on amphibian and reptile conservation efforts in the state. Without this funding, Pennsylvania's efforts to address increasing threats to these species would be diminished.
