About this award
The Department of Housing and Urban Development Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development awarded $195,125 to the County of Salt Lake Housing and Community Development Division on September 23, 2025, under the Emergency Solutions Grant Program (CFDA 14.231).
The award funds street outreach and emergency shelter operations through September 22, 2027. ESG program funds support five eligible activities: street outreach, emergency shelter, homelessness prevention, rapid re-housing assistance, and homeless management information system operations, plus administrative costs. The program helps individuals and families regain permanent housing stability after experiencing homelessness or a housing crisis by enabling communities to engage unsheltered individuals, improve emergency shelter capacity and quality, support shelter operations, provide essential services to shelter residents, and rapidly rehouse homeless individuals while preventing others from becoming homeless.
The County of Salt Lake Housing and Community Development Division, a division of Salt Lake County Human Services Department, operates as a prime recipient of federal grants focused on affordable housing development, homelessness intervention, and community development activities across Salt Lake County, Utah. Performance occurs in Salt Lake City, Utah. The recipient maintains substantial federal funding activity through HUD Community Planning and Development programs, including recurring allocations under the Continuum of Care Program and Home Investment Partnerships Program alongside this ESG award.
