The State of Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, Fiscal Services Division, has been awarded a $3,633,890 Formula Grant from the U.S. Department of Energy under the State Energy Program (CFDA 81.041). The grant, which runs from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2026, will support the state's efforts to certify 350 new and existing workers in energy efficiency occupations, including home performance contractors, HVAC contractors, plumbers, electricians, and building science professionals. The funding will be used to support existing workforce training programs through a contractor, although the specific implementation mechanisms are not detailed. This grant award is part of the Department of Energy's broader State Energy Program, which aims to increase market transformation of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies through policies, strategies, and public-private partnerships.
