Section 402 state and community highway safety grant

The Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded the State of Delaware Department of Safety and Homeland Security a $2.8 million formula grant under the State and Community Highway Safety program (CFDA 20.600) for the period of October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2025.

The State and Community Highway Safety program aims to reduce traffic crashes and resulting deaths, injuries, and property damage through state-administered programs focused on behavior modification. Funding supports the State of Delaware's implementation and administration of programs to enhance highway safety, such as enforcement of laws and regulations related to alcohol and drug-impaired driving, occupant protection, speeding and other unsafe driving behaviors. Program activities will be carried out across Delaware through September 2025 in alignment with the goals of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to reduce crashes, fatalities and injuries on the nation's roadways.
