Section 402 state and community highway safety grant

The Colorado Department of Transportation was awarded a $6.38 million Formula Grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration under the State and Community Highway Safety program (CFDA 20.600) for the period of October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2025.

As administered by the NHTSA at the federal level and State Highway Safety Offices at the state level, this formula grant funding supports the Colorado Department of Transportation in conducting statewide programs to reduce traffic crashes and resulting deaths, injuries, and property damage. Such efforts may include data analysis, education and enforcement campaigns around issues such as impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving, occupant protection, motorcycle safety, and other behaviors that impact roadway safety. The award amount and duration are consistent with the program's provision of ongoing formula grant support to state governments for implementing highway safety countermeasures.
