This $35,656,800 Formula Grant award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CFDA 66.458) program provides capitalization funding to the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (Pennvest) to establish and manage an effective statewide Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) program.
Through this grant, Pennvest will provide low-interest financing to numerous subrecipients, including the Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority, Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority, and Lancaster Area Sewer Authority, to support the planning, design, and construction of eligible water quality improvement and protection projects across Pennsylvania. Key activities include rehabilitating aging sewer infrastructure, upgrading wastewater treatment facilities, and replacing lead service lines to improve water quality and protect public health for citizens statewide. Pennvest will also utilize set-aside funds for technical assistance, outreach, and program administration to ensure the CWSRF program remains self-sustaining.
