About this award
The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families awarded Osage Nation $459,723 under the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) on October 1, 2025. LIHEAP provides federally funded assistance to eligible households to reduce costs associated with home energy bills, energy crises, weatherization, and minor energy-related home repairs. The award covers the period from October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2027, with place of performance in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Osage Nation, a federally recognized tribal government headquartered in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, receives this formula grant directly under the tribal provisions of LIHEAP, which sets aside allocations for Native American tribes and tribal organizations rather than requiring competitive application. The recipient administers assistance to approximately 45,000 Osage Nation citizens across 1.47 million acres of tribal lands in Oklahoma.
