About this award
The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Community Living awarded $15.919 million to Connecticut's Department of Aging & Disability Services on October 1, 2025, under the Older Americans Act Title III, Part B program (CFDA 93.044) for supportive services to Connecticut residents age 60 and older through September 30, 2027.
The recipient distributes funding through five sub-recipients—North Central Area Agency On Aging, Inc.; Eastern Connecticut Area Agency On Aging, Inc.; Western Connecticut Area Agency On Aging, Inc.; Agency On Aging Of South Central Connecticut, Inc.; and Southwestern Connecticut Agency On Aging, Inc.—each operating a designated geographic planning and service area. The mandatory service allocation requires sub-recipients to award at minimum 25 percent of Title III-B funds for in-home services including chore services, homemaker, grocery delivery, and personal emergency response; 21 percent for access services including outreach, information and referral, transportation (minimum 10 percent), and behavioral health services (minimum 5 percent); 6 percent for legal assistance covering income, health care, long-term care, nutrition, housing and utilities, conservatorship defense, and abuse and neglect protection; and 5 percent for senior centers. The program encourages development and implementation of comprehensive, coordinated community-based systems designed to maximize informal support and enable older adults to remain in their homes and communities. This is a formula grant awarded under state plan approval on a non-competitive basis.
