About this award
This $1,081,937 Formula Grant award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service supports the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP, CFDA 10.558) in the state of Georgia. The grant, which runs from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2026, provides funding to the Georgia Department of Early Care & Learning (doing business as "Bright From The Start") to administer nonprofit food service programs that deliver nutritious meals and snacks to children and adults enrolled in nonresidential day care facilities and afterschool care programs across the state. The grant enables Bright From The Start to sub-award funds to local school districts, nonprofits, and day care providers to implement these meal services and nutrition education initiatives at the community level.
