The U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration awarded a $597,751 Formula Grant to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) under the Employment Service/Wagner-Peyser Funded Activities program (CFDA 17.207). The purpose of this grant is to develop and disseminate essential state and local labor market information (LMI) for a range of customer groups, including job seekers, employers, workforce intermediaries, educational institutions, and policymakers.
The key activities to be performed under this grant include: 1) populating and maintaining a workforce information database (WID), 2) producing employment projections and a statewide economic analysis report, and 3) ensuring LMI staff are adequately trained. The grantee has discretion over additional reports and data products to provide actionable information enabling data users to make informed decisions about reemployment, work-based learning, training, and career pathways strategies. The intended beneficiaries of this grant include job seekers, employers, staff at American Job Centers, state/local workforce development boards, and other LMI users. The grant period runs from July 1, 2024 to September 30, 2027.
