Description
All work is to be accomplished within the two-year award period. The goals for this grant are to increase the capacity and efficiency of our forensic biology and DNA programs by reducing our case backlogs and reducing the overall turnaround time for handling, screening, analyzing, and reviewing cases. BFS proposes to achieve these goals by funding overtime for forensic biology and DNA casework analysis; providing training for forensic biology, DNA casework, and DNA databank analysts; and purchasing equipment for forensic biology, DNA casework, and DNA databank analysis. Using grant funding for overtime, BFS expects to be able to complete at least 300 additional biology/DNA cases by the end of the grant period.
