Environmental Protection Agency Region 4 awarded $224,750 to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources on January 1, 2026, under the Water Pollution Control State, Interstate, and Tribal Program Support program (CFDA 66.419) to support water quality monitoring and protection activities across Georgia's rivers, lakes, streams, and groundwater.
The award funds development of a quality assurance project plan, field sampling and laboratory analysis of waterbodies, and participation in the National Aquatics Resource Survey. Field work for the National Coastal Condition Assessment is scheduled for summer 2026. Deliverables include the quality assurance project plan and results from water monitoring and laboratory analysis intended to improve and maintain water quality statewide and establish Georgia's participation in national aquatic monitoring efforts.
The award runs through December 31, 2030, with place of performance in Georgia. No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
