About this award

Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 awarded the Indiana Department of Health $565,953 on October 1, 2025, under the State and Tribal Indoor Radon Grants program (CFDA 66.032) to reduce radon risk through public awareness and testing encouragement.

The recipient's Lead and Healthy Homes Division will distribute radon test kits to the public, provide educational resources on radon risks, and advocate for building policy changes supporting radon testing. The project will establish direct contact channels for public inquiries about radon concerns. Deliverables include radon-related educational materials, outreach meetings, and test result data. Sub-awards support investigation, radon hotline services, and free test kits for local health departments. The American Lung Association serves as a sub-recipient under this agreement.
