THE PURPOSE OF THE AWARD IS TO IMPLEMENT THE UIC CLASS II PROGRAM IN ILLINOIS IN A MANNER THAT PROTECTS THE STATE'S FRESH WATER SOURCES. ACTIVITIES:THE ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED INCLUDE THE DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF INVENTORIES OF INJECTION SYSTEMS; THE DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF DATABASES HOUSING COMPLIANCE INFORMATION ON UNDERGROUND INJECTION WELL ACTIVITIES; THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PERMITTING ACTIVITIES; AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ENFORCEMENT PROGRAMS. THE EXPECTED OUTCOMES INCLUDE: PERFORM AN INFORMAL INTERNAL ANNUAL REVIEW OF CURRENT PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION AND POLICIES. IMPLEMENT ANY NECESSARY CHANGES AS SOON AS PRACTICAL. OOGRM'S RULE STRUCTURE REQUIRES BI-ANNUAL OR QUINQUENNIAL TESTING OF TA CLASS II UIC WELLS. TA WELL COUNTS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH EOY REPORT. OOGRM WILL CONTINUE TO REVIEW 100% OF OG-18 FORMS AS RECEIVED. OOGRM REQUIRES ALL ACTIVE INJECTION WELLS TO COMPLETE AND 'PASS' A PART I MI. ADDITIONALLY, THE TEST IS REQUIRED TO BE REPEATED EVERY 5 YEARS. ALL PART I MI TESTS WILL BE REPORTED ON EOY REPORT. OOGRM INSPECTORS WILL INSPECT EVERY ACTIVE UIC WELL IN FY2024. THE INTENDED BENEFICIARIES INCLUDE: STATE RESIDENTS IN NEED OF CLEAN AIR, LAND, AND WATER, AND CHEMICAL SAFETY.
