Description

The cooperative approach of the project allows participants to serve in a developmental capacity that directly benefits their professional growth, and subsequently contribute their skills to the broader cultural resources management workforce. In addition to the projects immediate benefit to participants, the information, products and or services identified or developed by this project will be shared through a variety of strategies to increase public awareness, knowledge and support for historic preservation and stewardship of the nations cultural and historical heritage. The completed habs documentation will be submitted to the library of congress, which is a public archive of americas architectural heritage. With climate change threats, building documentation is essential for the national park service to make informed decisions that may include stabilization and rehabilitation of historic properties as part of the npss stewardship responsibility for cultural resources, which is entirely for the benefit of the larger public.
