Description

The national trails system objectives preserve, protect, and develop the components of the national trails system, with a strong emphasis on volunteer involvement through financial assistance agreements to operate, develop, and maintain any portion of such a trail either within or outside a federally administered area. This project will reach new audiences by providing free on-water programs through day-sail and dockside activities at chesapeake BAY region towns along the trail. By raising awareness of the trail partners rich history during americas early years, and increasing the use of the pride of baltimore II (pride II), a replica war of 1812 privateer schooner, this program will help to create stewards who will work to preserve local trail-related history. Beneficiaries include the general public, states and or their political subdivisions, landowners, private organizations, or individuals.
