Description
The fire prevention, fire ecology and fire education program increases public understanding of fires role in maintaining healthy ecosystems, managing fire to protect communities, and the purpose of suppression actions. This is accomplished through a variety of interactive programs and presentations.program presentations include junior smokejumper, the big burn, fire wise montana, school events, bear creek days, community events and field trips. Operating seasonally from may to october, yellowstone nature connection connects young people and adults to the role of fire and public lands. The program educates children and parents about firefighting, smoke jumping, fire science and the natural environment. Programs are created for families to come together and learn about fire, ecology and nature. We use presentations, field trips, and community events to increase awareness about fire and fire adapted ecosystems. Program activities also further the education of landowners about wildfire prevention and mitigation to help create fire adapted communities and resilient landscapes.
