Mountain meadows restoration project

The federal Cooperative Agreement award, with ID L24AC00390, was provided by the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management under the Good Neighbor Authority (CFDA 15.015) program. The $110,770.05 award, dated August 12, 2024, supports the "MOUNTAIN MEADOWS RESTORATION PROJECT" to be performed by the State of California Department of Water Resources (DWR) over a 5-year period ending August 12, 2029. The Cooperative Agreement facilitates collaborative ecosystem restoration efforts between federal, state, and tribal entities, focusing on natural resource management activities such as forest and rangeland restoration, invasive species treatment, and watershed rehabilitation across federal and non-federal lands. Through this funding, DWR will leverage its expertise in water infrastructure, environmental conservation, and project delivery to implement the Mountain Meadows restoration initiative, contributing to the program's objectives of enhancing landscape connectivity, combating climate change impacts, and improving ecological health through partnerships.
