Description

The new trail, named chutes and boulders, will be directional and gravity-FED, descend up to 900 vertical feet, and will feature a variety of natural obstacles and technical trail features. Currently, 1.5 miles of the 3.5 total miles of trail is already constructed, and the work outlined in this project will complete the last 2 miles necessary to complete its construction. Approximately 75% of the trail will be hand-built by experienced crews to optimize the natural terrain and to provide the distinct natural character upon which a downhill mountain bike trail experience is dependent. Portions of the trail will be machine-built to optimize areas where the objective is to provide trail flow and/or to accommodate for difficult build conditions. The trail will be managed to provide directional travel and will be closed to uphill riders as well as other non-motorized recreationists. These management controls will ensure that the visitor experience will be optimized for rider challenge and flow.
