Description

Washington six counties RE-collection projectproject period: 06 01 2024 - 05 31 2026PROJECT abstract summary: this project funds the collection of 7,770 square miles of full lidar coverage over whitman, franklin, wahkiakum, pacific, grays harbor and mason counties in washington state at the quality level 1 standard. For most areas this project will represent the first full RE-collection of lidar to keep elevation data updated, relevant, consistent, and maintain a high-quality standard. This collection will also target areas that either have lower quality data to bring IT to the same quality level 1 standard or do not yet have 3D elevation program compliant lidar data. Overall, updating lidar data is an important goal for washington state in order to provide opportunities for change analysis and to maintain, monitor, and manage critical land and natural resource projects. This data will also be added to the 3D national topography model for the benefit of all federal, tribal, non-profit and public use.
