S. Geoframework initiative options: project 1- bedrock mapping in the western portion of the broad top coalfield, bedford and huntingdon counties criterion 1 project 2 3D model of surface beneath newark-gettysburg basin in southeast pennsylvania criterion 3 project 3 geologic map compilation of east central pennsylvania, columbia, luzerne, lycoming, montour, and union counties criterion 4 project 4 geologic map digitization in central pennsylvania, blair, cambria, centre, and clearfield counties criterion 5 project 5 geoheritage sites of pennsylvania criterion 10 activities to be performed: deliverables and expected outcomes - project 1- geologic map of the western broad top coalfield for the area outlined in figure 3, including parts of five 7.5-minute quadrangles (entriken, everett east, hopewell, saxton, and wells tannery) in PDF format and a gems level 3 package of a previously published map to the ngmdb as part of this project deliverable. Project 2 - ncgmp new subsurface geologic data based on previously published non-digital products through digitization of cross section traces and extraction of XYZ data from cross sections. The generated digital surface of the base of the mesozoic consolidated rock units within the newark-gettysburg basin will be submitted as CSV files containing XYZ coordinates and geologic attributes. Project 3 - gems level 3 database of the compiled bedrock geology for the 7-quadrangle area. The bedrock geologic maps developed from this project will supersede the current atlas reports. Revised digital geologic data also will be made available through the pags website and ngmdb web site 1:24,000-scale surficial and bedrock geologic maps and cross section(s) of the catawissa 7.5-minute quadrangle in PDF format. Project 4 - gems level 3 database for each publication of the six selected quadrangles: project 5 a geodatabase of pennsylvania geoheritage sites. Sites will be included as point, polyline, and or polygon features, and will be, at a minimum, attributed with (1) classification as scientific, educational, cultural, economic, and or aesthetic features (2) rationale for geoheritage designation, (3) social significance, and (4) scientific classification.intended beneficiaries -project 1 -pennsylvania department of environmental protection, pennsylvania aggregate industries, pennsylvania department of transportation: project 2 US armed services, US geological survey, PA department of environmental protection: project 3 PA departments of transportation, and conservation and natural resources, aggregate industry: project 4 US geological survey: project 5 - PA department of conservation and natural resources bureaus of forestry, recreation and conservation, geological survey non-governmental conservation organizations and department of environmental protection citizens interested in visiting geoheritage sites.
