Description

The main purpose of this project is to assist the property owners in the restoration of seasonal wetlands on the south half of their property. The existing ponds require restoration work to provide the property owners the ability to better manage the flow of water and ponding depth and ponding duration. With the improved water flow and drainage, the westmorland duck club will be able to move more water across the site to remove some of the salt and reduce the salinity of the soil. With a new arrangement and grading of the ponds the westmorland duck club will be able to create different micro-habitats for waterfowl on the property. The result of this restoration project will be better habitat for waterfowl and allow the property owners to manage the habitat more effectively.
