About this award

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD) received a $254,333.58 cooperative agreement award from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Community Assistance Program - State Support Services Element (CAP-SSSE) program. The CAP-SSSE program provides funding to states and territories to provide technical assistance to communities participating in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and to evaluate community performance in implementing NFIP floodplain management activities.

Under this cooperative agreement, LaDOTD will use the funding to deliver technical assistance and conduct community assessments for NFIP compliance in Louisiana from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. As the designated state agency, LaDOTD's Project Development Division will directly oversee carrying out the CAP-SSSE program requirements within the state. The award aims to strengthen Louisiana communities' floodplain management programs and reduce flood risk, in keeping with the goals of the NFIP.
