Description
The primary purpose of this agreement is to develop simulation models to analyze the potential climate change impacts on plant pests and help improve decision making regarding plant pest response by USDA aphis plant protection and quarantine (PPQ). The results will be housed in the spatial analytic framework for advanced risk information systems (safaris), which was created to meet PPQ's predictive mapping needs and provide a web-based interface for accessing a suite of pest predictive models linked to various weather databases for use by researchers, risk analysts, decision/policy makers, rapid-responders, and land managers.
