Description

This project will monitor potential dispersal of inoculum at different heights within the canopy and close to the leaf litter via spore trapping. Additionally, the pathogen will be collected along a transect to determine the potential spread of p. Citricarpa in a commercial citrus grove under natural field conditions. This project will provide the distance p. Citricarpa and p. Capitalensis conidia can be detected from potential inoculum sources within a given infected tree canopy, provide the distance that p. Citricarpa and p. Capitalensis can be detected in citrus trees nearby known-infected trees, and create a report detailing the data collected and statistical outcomes from the research. The intended beneficiaries are citrus producers affected by citrus black spot.
