About this award

The Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) awarded a $361,196 cooperative agreement to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture to support Animal Disease Traceability (ADT) activities from April 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022.

Under the agreement, the Nebraska Department of Agriculture will provide technical services to protect U.S. agriculture from economically injurious animal diseases, as part of APHIS' Plant and Animal Disease, Pest Control, and Animal Care program (CFDA 10.025). Specifically, the Department will conduct activities to trace animal movements and support disease control and eradication efforts should an outbreak occur. The funding will also allow the Department to work with livestock producers and markets to promote voluntary animal identification and tracing systems, a key objective of the ADT program.
