About this award
This $170,000 cooperative agreement from the Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service supports a gypsy moth survey in Kentucky from May 2021 through April 2022 under the Plant and Animal Disease, Pest Control, and Animal Care federal grant program (CFDA 10.025). As part of efforts to protect U.S. agriculture from economically injurious plant and animal diseases and pests, the University of Kentucky Research Foundation will conduct activities to monitor and assess the presence and spread of the invasive gypsy moth in the state. In its role as the designated awardee, the Research Foundation will leverage its research expertise and local knowledge to carry out survey activities in partnership with the funding agency.
