ACTIVITIES:THE ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED ARE TO REPLACE AND/OR REHABILITATE APPROXIMATELY 2.1 MILES OF 6-INCH, 8-INCH, 10-INCH AND 12-INCH WATER MAINS TO IMPROVE WATER QUALITY AND FLOW IN THE KENILWORTH NEIGHBORHOOD OF BOWIE. APPROXIMATELY 7,526 LINEAR FEET OF EXISTING 6-INCH AND 2,774 LINEAR FEET OF EXISTING 8-INCH WATER MAINS WILL BE LINED WITH AWWA CLASS IV LINER BY LICENSED INSTALLERS. THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT TEMPORARY WATER SERVICE TO CUSTOMERS AFFECTED BY SHUTDOWNS DURING CONSTRUCTION, MAINTAINING FIRE SERVICE THROUGH TEMPORARY BYPASS, RE-CONNECTING THE CIPP LINED CAST IRON PIPES USING DUCTILE IRON PIPE AND COUPLINGS AT INSERTION/EXIT PITS, INSTALLING NEW 6-INCH, 8--INCH, 10-INCH, AND 12-INCH DIAMETER VALVES AND RECONNECTING (5)/REINSTATING (183) RESIDENTIAL WATER SERVICE CONNECTIONS TO THE CIPP LINED CAST IRON PIPES AND SECTIONS OF CAST IRON PIPE REPLACED WITH DUCTILE IRON PIPE WILL BE PROVIDED. SUBRECIPIENT:NO SUBAWARDS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT.OUTCOMES:THE ANTICIPATED DELIVERABLE IS 2.1 MILES OF RENEWED DRINKING WATER INFRASTRUCTURE TO THE KENILWORTH COMMUNITY, WHICH IS EXPECTED TO ENSURE A CLEAN AND SAFE DRINKING WATER SUPPLY. THE INTENDED BENEFICIARIES INCLUDE THE RESIDENTS IN THE KENILWORTH NEIGHBORHOOD WITHIN THE CITY OF BOWIE, MARYLAND.
