The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families awarded Ridge Project Inc. a $3.75 million Cooperative Agreement on September 30, 2025, under the Healthy Marriage Promotion and Responsible Fatherhood Grants program (CFDA 93.086).

The Tyro Fathers—The Ridge Project will serve 1,480 incarcerated and formerly incarcerated adult fathers across six Ohio correctional facilities. Deliverables include the 24-hour Tyro Dads responsible parenting curriculum and an 8-hour Couple/Core Communication healthy marriage education module, followed by economic stability programming covering job ethics training, financial literacy, and industry-recognized job training. Participants develop individual and family goal achievement plans and receive case management support for 12 months post-release, including job search assistance and connection to peer-based mentoring networks. The program targets improvements in family functioning, father-child engagement, employment outcomes, and recidivism reduction.

Performance takes place in McClure, Ohio. The period of performance runs through September 29, 2030. The Healthy Marriage Promotion and Responsible Fatherhood Grants program funds organizations providing services to promote healthy marriages and relationships, strengthen father-child engagement, and improve employment and economic stability opportunities for families.

Tyro fathers - the ridge project will serve 1,480 incarcerated and formerly incarcerated adult fathers across six ohio correctional facilities through tyro dads (24-hour responsible parenting curriculum) and couple/core communication (8-hour healthy marriage education), followed by economic stability programming including job ethics training, financial literacy, and industry-recognized job training. Fathers will develop individual and family goal achievement plans while receiving case management support for 12 months post-release, including job search assistance and connection to peer-based mentoring networks. Through these comprehensive services, the project aims to improve family functioning, increase father-child engagement, boost employment outcomes, and reduce recidivism-breaking generational cycles of incarceration and poverty across ohio communities.
