Description

This research (phase i) has been successfully executed as the current funding cycle nears its conclusion. This research has provided critical findings to several keweenaw BAY indian community tribal departments, engaged kbocc faculty in academic research, and provided valuable paid research experiences to kbocc environmental science students who are pursuing careers in stem fields. The work will also provide long-term benefits to the greater community based on the cultural, recreational, and economic importance of the area's fisheries, as findings will help guide future kbic fish RE-stocking efforts and harvesting management decisions. The proposed research for the 2016-2017 funding cycle will provide continued benefits in these regards.
