Description
Typically these take the form of optical terrain relative navigation (TRN) measurements which require detailed maps of the surface being observed. NASA's goddard space flight center lunamaps project has been created to develop techniques for building and evaluating navigation maps for the lunar surface (and the surfaces of other solar system bodies).the lunamaps project is developing a pipeline to ease conversion of orbital imagery data into high resolution digital elevation models of the lunar surface using the ames stereo pipeline (ASP).
