The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded a $5,460,753 Cooperative Agreement under the Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas (CFDA 98.001) federal grant program. The purpose of the award is to increase safe and equitable non-formal learning opportunities for out-of-school youth in Niger, helping them develop foundational or vocational skills needed to transition into formal education or employment.

The primary awardee, the International Rescue Committee (IRC), will work to provide these learning opportunities to 28,390 youth aged 9-18 across the Maradi, Tillaberi, Zinder and Dosso regions, with a tailored approach for girls. The IRC will deliver this program through a sub-award to Alice International Inc., a woman-owned small business that specializes in inclusive education and disability-inclusive development. The sub-award will support Alice International Inc.'s efforts to strengthen education systems, implement instructional best practices, and facilitate assessments and materials development to improve access to quality learning for marginalized youth.

The purpose of the activity is to increase safe and equitable non-formal learning opportunities for out-of-school youth to develop the foundational or vocational skills needed to transition into formal education or employment.
