Activities
The recipient will lead the grasp-type end-effectors task and support the development of associated performance methods related to grasp strength, slip resistance, and cycle-time. The recipient will also develop a new candidate test method for in-hand manipulation and initiate new developments related to robot force control and bimanual manipulation.
Expected outcomes
Literature review and technical developments in test methods related to grasping force control and bimanual manipulation.
Intended beneficiaries
The future standards that will be developed because of this work will allow manufacturers and vendors to better communicate the capabilities of their grasp-type end effectors to robot users. The work will specifically give robot users use cases in bimanual manipulation and force control.
