Description
- Purpose
- The purpose of this grant is to the learning to conduct a human-machine teaming pilot study framed within a constructionist learning environment to establish that llms and AI technologies can provide key capabilities to enable joint human-machine formulation and manufacturing system software development.
- Activities
- The work will encompass two main activities. Expected outcome: this grant will develop an optimization algorithm for generating DLS code for combinatorial manufacturing task optimization problems through human collaboration with an LLM, design requirements for a future AI planner system that will consider discourse processes; development of a constructionist learning environment and strategies for developing a learning community of planning practitioners; and a recommended plan for the development of a future AI planner system.
- Intended beneficiaries
- Applications of large language models (llms) in manufacturing presents opportunities for new roles and relationships for humans and machines in the formulation of task planning models. Small and medium-sized manufacturers will benefit from guidelines for best practices as a foundation for a measurement science to utilize and benefit from these sophisticated tools.
- Subrecipient activities
- The recipient does not intend to subaward funds.
