Description
- Activities
- The researchers will:- design and develop proper on-wafer mtrl calibration kits with coverage across 2-220 GHZ and at least 4 delay lines.- calibrate a broadband VNA using well-designed on-wafer mtrl calibration structures and either the NIST microwave uncertainty framework (MUF) and/or the formfactor wincal software- verify the resulting on-wafer mtrl calibrations- measure on-wafer unmatched transistors which are fabricated in extended reference plane (ERP) configuration.- verify on-wafer unmatched transistor measurements- develop an accurate, tractable gallium nitride (GAN) high electron mobility transistors (hemts) models for MM-wave frequencies.
- Expected outcomes
- The resulting models, once tested and validated with an inter-related other project at NIST, will be shared with the public, particularly external collaborators and researchers involved in designing next-generation MM-wave monolithic microwave integrated circuit (mmics). The models will advance practices for process design kits, on-wafer calibration and analysis approaches across foundries.
- Intended beneficiaries
- Researchers & designers of next-generation MM-wave monolithic microwave integrated circuit (mmics), electronic design automation (EDA) firms and foundries will benefit from improved modelssubrecipient activities: the recipient does not intend to issue subawards.
